PATRICIA J. DUFFY focuses primarily on the practice areas of personal injury law, employment law, civil rights, wage and hour law, and commercial litigation. She has represented hundreds of employees in a variety of employment-related disputes, including unpaid overtime, sexual harassment, discrimination based on race, age, gender, pregnancy, religion, national origin, or disability, as well as whistleblower and retaliation cases. The commercial litigation aspect of Ms. Duffy’s practice consists of representing businesses in such situations as breach of contract disputes and commercial torts.
Ms. Duffy is committed to her client’s interests at any cost. Admitted to practice in both Georgia and Florida, Ms. Duffy is responsible for numerous cases eventually resulting in settlements and verdicts of millions. She was co-counsel in a case where the defendant offered only $1,000 to settle at trial; the jury verdict exceeded one-half million dollars. She also has handled large-scale litigation involving multiple plaintiffs, including collective actions, seeking monetary and injunctive relief against corporations for violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Prior to founding Massey & Duffy, PLLC in October 2003, Ms. Duffy practiced law in Atlanta, Georgia where she gained significant experience in complex litigation matters. She also served a two-year term as a Staff Attorney for the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, upon graduation from law school.
